How has technology impacted or changed your classroom assessment and evaluation? Has your data collection methodology changed with technology? If technology has not impacted your assessment and evaluation, what would you like to change? Discuss technology and your own productivity and professional practice.

Technology has had a dramatic impact on my assessment and evaluation. Ever since I have had my own class I made it a point to introduce the students to as much technology that I could. The use of technology for assessment is, in my opinion, crucial in order to help students become 21st century technology learners. The way I collect data on students has not changed; the only thing that has changed is the hand cramp that I would get from crunching various numbers after assessments. Technology enables the same processes that I used to do by hand to be put into a platform and then "spit out" trends than can be analyzed.

On a day to day basis I can track data or give assessments through the use of Edmodo. After the students take a quiz, test, or formative I can get instant data that I can use to see whether the students understood the lesson or not. Another great part of this is that the students who get the material can get extension material and the ones who do not I can upload intervention material that they can work on their own time to show me that they have grasps the material. Another platform that I use in the class is Quizlet. This also provide the same assessments and evaluation tools as well. I typically use this for vocabulary terms and /or key facts within a given lesson or unit.

Throughout the past three years I have increased the use of technology within my classroom. I have increased the data tracking, online assessments, virtual lesson, flipped models, and a database of lessons that students can go back to and refer to. During these three years my "scores" both in the grade book that I keep and state testing (OAA/PARCC) have increased each year. I want to believe that there is a direct link to the tech used within the class and the scores. My methods have not changed expect trading in paper and pencil for a keyboard and a mouse and based on the technological platforms that I use, my team, my students, and the school I am a part of productivity and practices have only enhanced.
